About the job
The Swedish Election Authority is the central electoral authority and is responsible nationally for planning, coordinating, and conducting general elections and referendums. The agency is also responsible for handling tasks within the framework of European Union citizen initiatives.
In this position as an Election Case Officer at the Swedish Election Authority, you will work with conducting elections and development work related to the election process, including areas such as electoral geography, statistics on eligible voters, and election results. This may involve participating in the development of educational materials, requirement specifications, and the creation of routines within the field.
During certain periods between and before elections, the job includes administering electoral geography, i.e., electoral districts and constituencies, as well as properties. Duties include ordering files from the Swedish Land Survey and the Population Register, preparing instructions and materials for municipalities and county administrative boards regarding electoral districts, and compiling files.
In connection with elections, you work with determining election results, the distribution of mandates between parties, and ensuring that members and substitutes are appointed correctly. You perform calculations regarding the probability that a mandate distribution will be affected by various circumstances and ensure that results are presented in a pedagogical manner.
You provide ongoing support both internally and externally, primarily to county administrative boards and municipalities. General case handling tasks also occur, such as appointing new members in the event of resignations during the term of office and answering questions from the public.
The Swedish Tax Agency is the host agency for the Swedish Election Authority, and all who work for the Swedish Election Authority are employed by the Swedish Tax Agency with placement at the Swedish Election Authority's office in Sundbyberg. The office consists of approximately 45 employees, and you will work in the team here that deals with areas such as electoral geography, voting rights, and election results.

About you

You must also have:
- a completed university education of at least 180 credits (120 p) with a statistical/mathematical or equivalent focus
- relevant and current experience working with qualified statistical/mathematical calculation models or methods
- experience retrieving and processing data from databases using, for example, SQL and Excel
- experience visualizing statistics.
It is also desirable that you have good knowledge of GIS analysis with experience of, for example, ArcGIS, QGIS, or equivalent.

The employment is permanent. Probationary employment will apply. Tests may be used in the recruitment process.

Therefore, a security clearance with register check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
