Accounting Manager at Danderyd Municipality

Our current Accounting Manager has chosen to move to a role as Accounting Strategist. This is why we are looking for an Accounting Manager who wants to contribute to strengthening and developing our economic unit.

The Economic Unit belongs to the Economic Department at the Municipal Executive Office, with the Head of Economics as the department manager. The unit consists of eleven employees, including an Accounting Manager, an Accounting Strategist, two Accountants, two Economic Assistants, three Economic Controllers, a Business Controller, and the Unit Manager.

Your main workplace will be at Djursholm Castle, with good parking facilities, located near the center of Djursholm. Danderyd Municipality offers hybrid work.

Responsibilities

As Accounting Manager, you have overall responsibility for the municipality's accounting and annual closing work. You ensure that the accounting maintains high quality and complies with current legislation, recommendations, and internal guidelines. The role involves close collaboration with other colleagues in the Economic Unit and with other economists in the municipality. You report to the Unit Manager, who directs and distributes the daily work within the unit.

You will, among other things, work with:

• Ongoing accounting and quality assurance of bookkeeping
• Monthly, interim, and annual closing
• Consolidated accounts for group companies
• Interim reports and annual reports
• VAT and tax issues within municipal operations
• Development and streamlining of accounting routines and processes
• Support and advice on accounting matters
• Reporting to auditors, Statistics Sweden (SCB), and other external parties

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree in economics or another relevant education.
• Several years of experience in qualified accounting work, including closing and annual reporting.
• Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.

The following are meritorious:

• Experience from a similar role within municipal or other public operations.
• Experience with Unit4 ERP.
• Experience with VAT reporting.

You work in a structured manner and have a good ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work in an efficient way. The ability to see the big picture and understand work-related issues from a broader perspective is an important part of the role, which contributes to long-term solutions and improvements.
