Terra Nova School is a primary school offering education from preschool class to year 6. The school has a leisure-time centre (fritidshem) with three departments. The catchment area is Terra Nova, and currently, approximately 160 students attend the school. Terra Nova School is located in a beautiful natural area that, together with the schoolyard, offers many opportunities for outdoor learning and play. Facilities include football fields, a school forest, a hill, and a skate park. We organize structured break-time activities.

The school has its own kitchen and sports hall. The school employs a high proportion of qualified and dedicated teachers for both primary school and the leisure-time centre, working to ensure all students acquire good knowledge and strong self-confidence. The school's guiding principles are: Safety, Knowledge, Participation, and Calm.

Your Responsibilities

Terra Nova School's leisure-time centre consists of three departments; two departments cater to students from preschool class to year 2, and the third department is for students from year 3 and upwards. Your main task is to work together with the rest of the leisure-time centre staff to ensure the activity is conducted in accordance with the Swedish National Agency for Education's curriculum (Lgr22). You are responsible for ensuring the education is varied, both regarding guided and free activities, and that different materials and learning environments are offered and used to stimulate students' desire to play and learn. Consequently, you have the main responsibility for ensuring that the leisure-time centre activity is goal-oriented.

In collaboration with colleagues, you create engaging learning environments from a clear and relational perspective. You view good relationships with students and guardians as the natural starting point for your work. During the school day, you are partly involved as support in the classroom and/or responsible for break-time activities. The leisure-time centre at Terra Nova School is a pilot school for working with PAX (Peaceful Schools) in the leisure-time centre.

Who are you?

You are certified or awaiting your certification as a teacher in leisure-time education/fritidspedagog.

We are looking for someone who is well-versed in the school's governing documents, such as Lgr22 for primary school, Chapter 4 of the curriculum for leisure-time centres, and the Education Act. You have a positive outlook and believe in every individual's desire to develop and learn. You are unpretentious, solution-focused, and understand the benefits of working in a team and learning together. You are also interested in working with the PAX method in leisure-time activities.

You have knowledge of or an interest in learning about accessible learning environments and see the importance of adapting activities based on students' needs from a relational perspective. We are looking for a colleague who inspires, develops, and has an inclusive mindset, adapting the learning environment so that all students can thrive. The position may be adapted based on the applicant's competence.
