Högbyskolan is located in Hemse and is part of the Sudret school district, which covers Southern Gotland. It is a grades F-9 school with approximately 350 students and is one of five schools in the Sudret school district. The other schools are Garda, Stånga, Havdhem, and Öja school, which are grades F-6 schools.

At Högbyskolan, we have approximately 55 employees and a well-developed student health team that works across the entire school district to create an equitable school where all students are given the best possible conditions to achieve good results.

Your Responsibilities

The position involves planning and leading the work in the after-school center (fritidshem) at Högbyskolan. As a teacher in the after-school center, you are responsible, together with colleagues in the work team, for planning, implementing, and evaluating the pedagogical work in accordance with the Swedish National Agency for Education's curriculum (Lgr22) and other regulatory documents. You are also responsible for collaborating with colleagues, students, and guardians to create a safe and developmental environment for the students. Supporting students in class during the day before the after-school center begins is also part of the job. Through close collaboration, you contribute to a cohesive and meaningful school day for the students.

You help create an activity that stimulates students' learning, development, and social skills. Together in the work team, you are responsible for developing the pedagogical content of the after-school center and creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment where all students have the opportunity to participate and develop.

The assignment includes:

  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in the after-school center together with colleagues.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff to create wholeness and continuity in the students' day.
  • Actively contributing to the work team's development and shared responsibility.
  • Working closely with students and supporting their social development in various contexts.
  • Collaborating with the student health team in working with students in need of support.

Who are you?

A degree as a teacher in the after-school center or a leisure-time pedagogical education is required for permanent employment.

You have the ability to lead and motivate students and create a safe and educational learning environment where students are engaged and involved. Your leadership is characterized by clarity, structure, and an inclusive approach. You enjoy working in teams and see collaboration with colleagues as a central part of the assignment.

To succeed in the role, you need to have very good collaboration skills and be relationship-building, as good and trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues are crucial. We are looking for you who is a team player who contributes to a positive and professional work climate. You are responsible, structured, and flexible. You want to develop the after-school center's activities together with others.

Personal suitability is given great weight.
