The International and Economic Department is responsible for international economic issues and for analyzing the Swedish and international economy, including by making forecasts and assessing the impact of the government's proposals within economic policy on the Swedish economy. The department participates in economic-political cooperation within a number of international organizations. In addition, the department is responsible for the management of a number of authorities. The department consists of four units, one of which is the Forecast Unit.
The Forecast Unit is responsible for the government's macroeconomic and public finance forecasts, as well as for the department's secretariat function. The tasks include ongoing monitoring, analysis, and forecasting, as well as preparing material for political leadership. The work also involves outcome management, maintenance, and development of methods and models for different forecast areas. Staff from the unit also participate in international cooperation and in discussions with other Swedish forecasters and institutions. The work is carried out both individually and in groups.
The tasks may also occasionally involve assisting the department's secretariat function in coordinating cross-unit issues and material for political leadership.

Your background
We are looking for you who have a master's or licentiate degree in economics and experience in analyzing economic statistics. You have good knowledge of time series analysis, quantitative methods, and programming, as well as the ability to translate complex macroeconomic relationships into clear and accessible messages for different target groups.
You have a very good stylistic ability and can formulate well-structured and pedagogical high-quality texts. Furthermore, you have a good ability to present and communicate analyses, conclusions, and recommendations in a clear and convincing manner. You express yourself very well in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. You have good knowledge of the Office suite and can use its tools effectively in daily work.
It is meritorious if you have written a thesis within macroeconomics or public finance. Furthermore, experience in producing macroeconomic or public finance forecasts is an advantage. Experience working with the software EViews or Macrobond is also seen as meritorious. We also value experience from working in the Government Offices or other relevant operations related to economic policy or public administration. In addition, it is meritorious if you have experience working in a high-tempo economic policy environment, where the ability to handle complex issues, tight deadlines, and shifting priorities is central.

We are looking for several new employees for both fixed-term and permanent positions. Start date by agreement. Place of work is Stockholm. There is some possibility to work remotely if the operations allow.
