ABOUT THE JOB
We are now looking for a mathematics teacher for Finnbacksskolan.
Finnbacksskolan is a secondary school (grades 7-9) with approximately 420 students. We have 5-6 parallel classes and four work teams, one for each grade level and one for our resource school. The work teams meet regularly in team meetings for competence development and student health meetings. Here, teachers have the opportunity to meet regularly subject-specifically in sector meetings, and we hold joint workplace meetings every month. We collaborate with the school's student health services to ensure that our students are doing well and feel safe at school. Together, we are building for the future through collaboration, education, and new technology.
The position involves teaching mathematics and other routine tasks associated with the teaching profession. In addition to teaching and related duties, you will share homeroom teacher responsibilities for a class together with a colleague and contribute to the fun and challenging work of working with teenagers. Whenever possible, we strive to have two teachers present in the classroom for mathematics.
You will be part of a work team for consultation and planning regarding your homeroom class and in a sector where collaboration is used to structure teaching in your subjects. You will document students' development in our communication tool, Infomentor, and communicate assignments and other matters to students via Teams.
Since autumn 2024, we have been working with a schedule model called "Subject Weeks." The model involves cohesive and concentrated work periods, with one theoretical subject per week. Subject Weeks enable different working methods, facilitate study visits, and reduce the fragmentation of time for students and teachers. The hope is that the model will benefit all students and capitalize on their desire to learn. The schedule includes practical-aesthetic subjects and language choices every week. This working method places higher demands on the teacher regarding variation, but at the same time, it gives much back, especially in the relationship with the students. Within the subject, teachers are expected to have close collegial collaboration where they plan and structure teaching together. During a few combined weeks, we work thematically with, among other things, the school's keywords: togetherness, health, and future.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with the qualification to teach mathematics in grades 7-9. You have high digital competence and current work experience teaching students in secondary school. We work with language and knowledge-developing methods, so experience and education in this area are meritorious.
