The Department of Culture and Media Studies is advertising a position as University Lecturer in Museology. The position is full-time, starting in January 2027 or as agreed.
Description of Duties
The duties include teaching, seminar leadership, thesis supervision, and examination. Teaching will be conducted both on campus courses, such as the Industry Education for Museums and Cultural Heritage, and on online courses. The role may also involve subject administrative responsibilities and teaching on the Master's Programme in Applied Cultural Studies. Standard course and program administration is included, as well as course development work. The position also includes professional development time equivalent to 20% of working hours.
Qualifications
To be eligible for appointment as a University Lecturer, the candidate must demonstrate pedagogical skill and hold a doctoral degree in Museology, or have equivalent scientific competence or other professional expertise significant in relation to the subject content and duties of the position. Eligible candidates also include those who have completed a doctoral degree in a subject closely related to Museology, provided they can demonstrate corresponding museological competencies.
Good knowledge of Swedish (or another Scandinavian language) and English, as well as the ability to teach in these languages, are requirements for the position.
