Are you passionate about creating engagement and providing students with the conditions to succeed? Then this could be your next step. At Kanalskolan, you will have the opportunity to teach, inspire, and contribute to students' knowledge development in an environment where hope for the future, quality, and community are in focus. We are now looking for a teacher who wants to make a real difference – and help shape tomorrow's Skellefteå.

YOUR ROLE

As a teacher, you plan, implement, and follow up on teaching within your subject area. You base your work on the school's governing documents and create teaching that gives students the best possible conditions to develop knowledgeably, socially, and personally.

You build a learning environment where students feel safe, included, and motivated to achieve their goals. Through clarity, engagement, and an inclusive approach, you help students develop both knowledge and self-confidence.

The role includes mentorship, where you follow a group of students over time and contribute to safety, structure, and motivation in their school day.

You collaborate closely with students, guardians, and colleagues. Together, you actively work with the school's mission and development work to create the best conditions for students' learning and well-being.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach in the relevant subject area. You have good pedagogical skills and can adapt teaching and communication based on students' different needs and conditions. You are clear in your leadership, create engagement in the classroom, and have the ability to motivate students to develop and achieve their goals.

As a person, you are sensitive, flexible, and enjoy collaborating with others. You value differences and see strength in meeting people with different experiences and perspectives. You contribute with engagement, new solutions, and a genuine interest in students' development.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

Kanalskolan offers the Economics Programme, International Baccalaureate (IB), and the Introduction Programme as individual alternatives. The school is centrally located in Skellefteå and has approximately 450 students and around 50 employees.

With us, you become part of a school where we work together to create a safe, developmental, and inspiring learning environment. We believe in collaboration, participation, and a shared responsibility for every student to have the opportunity to succeed.

NICE TO KNOW

We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a cover letter, you answer some selection questions and attach an updated CV. Work psychological tests may be used as part of the recruitment process.

Selection and interviews take place on an ongoing basis.
