Vännäs is a growing municipality, 30 km from Umeå, with a large proportion of children and young people. At Vännäs Cultural School, approximately 200 students from grades 4-9 receive instruction in various instruments and singing. From autumn, we will also expand our offerings with theater/drama groups. The instruction takes place both individually and in different groups in the cultural school's own premises as well as at our schools.

Currently, six music teachers work at the cultural school, and from autumn, two drama educators will join us. We will also launch distance education in the autumn through the interregional project Nova K, which involves distance education for students living in another municipality in Västerbotten.

We are now looking for a music teacher with a main instrument in strings (cello or violin), preferably with additional competencies in other instrument groups or relevant subjects, and who is also interested in distance education.

Job Responsibilities

String instruction usually takes place in 20-minute lessons, individually or in groups, and mainly during the students' school hours. You schedule, plan, and conduct your teaching independently. The position also includes leading a string ensemble/orchestra. The position may involve some evening and weekend work.

Qualifications

You have a university degree in music pedagogy or equivalent. We would like you to have a breadth when it comes to musical styles. You have experience teaching children and young people in music, both individually and in groups. You enjoy working together with others and have experience organizing concerts and events.

Conditions

Scope: 15-40%

Salary: Starting salary for teachers at the Cultural School without or with little work experience is 34,000 SEK. Vännäs Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting.
