Do you speak Meänkieli?
Finnish, Yiddish, Meänkieli, Romani Chib, and Sami are national minority languages in Sweden. This means that the student has the right to study the language even if it is a beginner's language.
The Municipality of Umeå WANTS MORE when it comes to the development of teaching in national minority languages, with a special focus on preschool and younger children. A longer development process is underway, starting from finding successful language models for teaching in and of the national minority language for both first and second language speakers.
