The Department of Culture and Media Studies (Note: Translated as "Department of Aesthetic Subjects" for accuracy to source, though often "Culture and Media" in English contexts, we stick to literal "Aesthetic Subjects" or "Department of Aesthetics" to match the Swedish "Estetiska ämnen") at Umeå University's Faculty of Humanities offers education and research in the aesthetic subjects of art, music, and craft. The department comprises over 40 friendly colleagues united by their commitment to these aesthetic fields. This creates a creative environment where people with diverse creative interests meet: wood and textiles, fashion design, image and form, photography, graphic design, sound, music, and music production.
