Flurkmarks School is located in a beautiful natural setting, 2 miles northwest of Umeå. More than 70 students from preschool class to grade six attend the school. There is close cooperation between the school and the after-school center. Values work and traditions are valuable elements in the operations. We are now looking for an engaged after-school teacher for a temporary position!

Employment Information

The position is a temporary full-time role, starting 2026-08-03 and ending 2027-06-30.

Your Responsibilities

Your task as an after-school teacher is to offer a meaningful leisure time where you base your activities on the students' needs, interests, and initiatives, while also inspiring new discoveries. Together with your colleagues, you offer students a variety of working methods, forms of expression, and learning environments where care and learning are integrated.

You collaborate with educators in preschool classes and in school to contribute to the students' goal achievement. Contact and cooperation with guardians is also an important part of the work. The assignment also includes working as a recess supervisor and planning and conducting recess activities.

About You

You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and have the ability to vary teaching and activities based on students' needs. You are a secure adult and a good role model who has the ability to connect with students, see each individual, and create a good learning environment. You motivate students by letting them participate and come up with their own suggestions. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills with colleagues and external parties. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

Requirements

• Licensed teacher or applied for teacher certification with eligibility to teach in after-school programs
• Experience working with children and students
• Valid extract from the criminal record register
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing
• Category B driver's license and access to a personal car due to sparse public transport. However, this is not a requirement if you can commute to work in another way.
