About the job

The Unit for Mother Tongue and Reception of Newly Arrived Students receives newly arrived students, organizes study guidance in the mother tongue and mother tongue instruction for approximately 1,900 students from municipal and independent primary and secondary schools in Täby Municipality. We work professionally with the student in focus, based on the democratic values of the Swedish school system. We have a pleasant atmosphere, a developing work environment, great commitment, and high ambitions to ensure that the municipality's students receive the best education. Your tasks involve being a link between the home, the school, and the unit. You use your mother tongue when teaching in the mother tongue and in study guidance. You participate in the reception conversation when we meet newly arrived students.

As a mother tongue teacher, you travel to different schools. It is possible to travel by public transport between schools, but having access to your own car makes the commute easier.

Who are you?

We want you who apply for the position to:

• have Meänkieli as your mother tongue
• express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• have teacher education or equivalent higher education
• have experience with bilingual education
• be well acquainted with the regulatory documents governing education and be able to translate these into meaningful learning

As a person, you are responsible, structured, have a holistic view, and a professional approach. With commitment and the ability to work independently and in a team, you find solutions to offer education to all your students under current conditions. We use digital tools in our work, and we would like you to be curious and experienced with IT.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and teamwork skills.

Teacher certification is desirable and advantageous.
