We are now looking for a new colleague to join our established and competent team at Mimers Gymnasium. We offer a workplace with low staff turnover, where teachers have long experience, high subject competence, and extensive knowledge of pedagogical work with young people within the autism spectrum. We are primarily seeking teachers in Geography and Social Studies, but other subject combinations may also be considered.
The position is full-time and includes a mentorship role. Teaching takes place on the SA, NA, and IMA programs in groups of approximately 10 students. School days are between 08:30–15:00, and the position includes holiday service. We are looking for a new employee as one of our colleagues is moving on to new challenges after 12 years.
We work intensively to find teaching models and develop a clarifying pedagogical approach that suits our students. There are great opportunities to influence working methods and approaches. Our students need support in structuring their studies, and you will receive support in your teaching from an established team consisting of special needs educators, counselors, and experienced resource teachers. Your colleagues are qualified and experienced pedagogues in relevant subjects.
You should appreciate close collaboration with your colleagues and have a strong commitment to the school's students. We place great emphasis on pedagogical development and spend a lot of time finding the path to each student's learning. The school works with a digital learning platform to facilitate pedagogy and create structure and clarity. Experience with digital tools, such as Office 365, is therefore an advantage.
Our students need to relate to as few people as possible during the school day. This means a small organization where we work closely with each other and our students, making the personal qualities of employees very important. Many of our students have difficulties with traditional teaching, so we are looking for an innovative and creative pedagogue interested in developing new strategies. You should be sensitive to the students' needs. It is an advantage if you have education within the autism spectrum (ASD) or documented experience working with our student group.
Mimers Gymnasium in Täby is a smaller independent school with a special pedagogical profile for students with diagnoses within the autism spectrum (primarily Asperger's syndrome, ADHD, ADD, and high-functioning autism). The school has two preparatory programs (SA and NA) as well as an introductory program. We offer a calm and pleasant working environment in bright, airy premises near public transport. Teaching groups are usually between 8–10 students.
Teachers and other staff at the school have extensive knowledge and experience regarding both the autism spectrum and their teaching subjects. A small organization with short decision-making paths provides flexibility in operations. The spirit of the school is characterized by clear leadership with great openness and sensitivity, as well as good opportunities to influence the work situation.
