Stockholm – our capital city of millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
Gubbängsskolan is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) with approximately 710 students, located between the Gubbängen row house area and Gubbängsfältet. The school is characterized by tradition, continuity, and a strong community where safety, curiosity, and a desire to learn are at the center. We have horizontal work teams, a high proportion of qualified leisure-time center teachers, and a well-developed collaboration between school and leisure-time activities.
The leisure-time center's activities focus particularly on language-enhancing activities, movement, organized play, and social interaction, and are an important part of the students' entire school day. Teaching is based on collaboration within the work team and is planned according to the students' different needs and a holistic view of learning and development. The school has recently completed a three-year participation in the IFOU program The Leisure-Time Center's Contribution to Students' Goal Achievement, which has strengthened our shared understanding of the leisure-time center's role in students' learning and contributes to our continued development work.
Your role
As a leisure-time center teacher at Gubbängsskolan, you work with lower primary school students (grades 1-3) and are responsible for planning, implementation, follow-up, and evaluation of the leisure-time center's teaching in accordance with the curriculum Lgr22 and the school's goals. You have a holistic view of the students' school day and actively contribute to their social development, safety, and learning throughout the day.
At Gubbängsskolan, we prioritize teaching in half-classes, which means you may be responsible for conducting half-class teaching during the school day, based on the leisure-time center's mission and the curriculum chapters for leisure-time centers. You will also teach music. The leisure-time center's teaching focuses particularly on language-enhancing activities, social interaction, movement, and organized play.
You collaborate closely with class teachers, other leisure-time staff, the student health team, and guardians to create good conditions for each student. The role also includes:
- stimulating students' social development and sense of responsibility
- participating in the planning and implementation of activities at the leisure-time center, during breaks, and on holidays
- contributing to extra adaptations and collaborating with the student health team when needed
- holding dialogue with guardians and participating in development talks related to the student's social development
- participating in documentation, follow-up, and the school's systematic quality work
You are also expected to be an active part of the collegial development work and contribute to further developing the leisure-time center's activities at Gubbängsskolan, in line with the school's common vision and way of working.
Your competence and experience
- Qualified leisure-time center teacher
- Good knowledge of the leisure-time center's mission based on current laws and policy documents
- A strong commitment to the pedagogical mission of the leisure-time center
- Responsible and professional in your work with students' learning and development
- Flexible, dynamic, and solution-oriented in your approach to work
- Enjoy working in a team but are also independent in planning and implementation
- Good communication skills and express yourself well both verbally and in writing
- World-aware and knowledgeable about research and development within schools and leisure-time centers
Personal suitability is highly valued. Qualifications to teach music are meritorious.
