Job Description

We believe in you and your abilities – therefore, we give you considerable freedom in your role. Many who work with us appreciate the trust and responsibility they receive in our municipality, as it contributes to significant learning and development in everyday life. To succeed, you must be confident in yourself and your profession, and have the ability to both take initiative – and set boundaries.

As a Municipal Secretary, you work directly with the municipality's political leadership and the Municipal Director. You are responsible for ensuring that the decision-making process regarding the Municipal Executive Board and the Municipal Council functions efficiently and with legal certainty. Based on the municipality's goals, you support the political leadership, the Municipal Director, and administrative managers in their work to coordinate and implement decisions and investigations.

Your duties include, among other things:

  • responsible for case preparation and serving as secretary for the Municipal Executive Board and its committees, as well as the Municipal Council
  • provide support to the political leadership
  • assist during and between meetings on administrative law matters
  • conduct municipality-wide investigations
  • participate in the development work of the office unit.

Qualifications

To succeed in this assignment, you should have:

  • a law degree or other education that the employer considers equivalent
  • at least five years of experience working closely with leadership in a politically governed organization, or alternatively as centrally placed leadership support in another organization
  • good knowledge of municipal political governance and the municipal decision-making process
  • knowledge of and interest in politics and societal issues.

It is an advantage if you have experience in a similar position in a municipality or other public sector operations.

You are a careful and structured person who takes responsibility for your assignment. You need to have a good ability to lead, plan, and coordinate processes in collaboration with others. The role requires an independent working style, and you plan the execution of your tasks yourself.

For you, it is self-evident to follow the statutory requirements and procedures while contributing to change and development. You adapt easily to changed circumstances, can see opportunities in changes, and dare to think new thoughts.

You enjoy communicating and express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

We will begin selection and interviews during the application period, so please send your application as soon as possible.
