About the position

The position is located at Research Support within the Staff for Research, Education and Development (FoUU) at Karolinska University Hospital.

As a financial project manager and project economist, you are responsible for the ongoing financial project management, accounting, and reporting of research projects funded by Swedish public research funders such as Vinnova and the Swedish Research Council.

The role involves both ongoing economic administration and more complex issues that arise within research projects. You are the responsible accounting economist for research projects with a special focus on projects funded by Vinnova.

The assignment also includes planning and conducting audits together with externally procured auditors. You work closely with colleagues in the Grants Office who are responsible for corresponding tasks related to the European Commission and international research funding, as well as with the R&D Economics unit within the Finance Staff.

The role involves many contact points and close collaboration with researchers and operations within Karolinska University Hospital.

The position is a fixed-term appointment until September 2027 with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Relevant university degree in economics.
• Experience in accounting and economic administration.
• Experience in reviewing and evaluating financial reports and accounting.
• Very good proficiency in working with Excel.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Merits:

• Experience in project economics.
• Experience in auditing and review together with an external auditor.
• Interest in research as well as healthcare.
• Good general IT knowledge and good knowledge of the Office package.
