The Unit's Mission

The Legal Department is responsible for ensuring that the agency has cohesive legal governance and for creating conditions for legal quality at all levels within the agency. We achieve this by providing legal support and expertise to the operations, as well as by ensuring secure and uniform application of the law within the agency. The Legal Department consists of six units, three of which are legal units responsible for different subject areas.

The Labor Market Employment Law Unit is responsible for legal matters concerning employers within the field of labor market law. This includes, among other things, questions regarding employers, support for persons with disabilities, as well as work with incorrect payments and work-related crime. The unit also provides employment law support to the HR department and the agency's personnel responsibility board.

Description of the Position

As a Legal Officer with a focus on litigation, you will primarily represent the Swedish Public Employment Service in court, mainly in matters of recovery of funds but also in other legal processes within the unit's area of operation. The work also involves assisting other departments with legal expertise and investigations in the field of labor market law, as well as participating in development work in the area. In addition to the role as a litigator, there are other legal assignments included in the position based on operational needs.

The role requires that you can independently analyze complex legal issues and translate legal assessments into clear and operationally adapted advice. You work in a structured manner, have good judgment, and are confident in prioritizing between different issues and processes.

You have good communication skills and can convey legal stances in a pedagogical and clear manner, both orally and in writing. The work involves close collaboration with other parts of the agency and places high demands on teamwork, responsibility, and professional conduct.

Who are you?

To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to be analytical, solution-oriented, and unpretentious. You are used to working independently in a high-tempo operation and have the ability to handle complex legal issues in a changing environment. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Basic requirements for the position

  • Law degree (equivalent to Jur. Cand.)
