We are now looking for a native language teacher in Spanish (70%) to the Native Language Unit in Södertälje Municipality.

Your responsibilities

Your task is to support and teach multilingual children and students in their native language across all school activities, from preschool to upper secondary school. You will also conduct study guidance for newly arrived students in various school subjects. The work is distributed across different preschools and schools in the municipality, in close collaboration with preschool and school management, educators, and teachers.

The Native Language Unit actively works to support children and students in their learning. Together with other native language teachers, you will drive and develop the operations based on our steering documents and the goals in the curriculum and course plans.

Who are you?

Requirements:

  • Swedish teacher certification and eligibility to teach the subject of native language.
  • Experience with study guidance in native languages across all school levels, with Spanish as your native language.
  • Experience in mapping newly arrived students using the Swedish National Agency for Education's mapping materials.
  • Knowledge and experience in mapping students in preschool classes using the Swedish National Agency for Education's material "Find the Language" (Hitta språket).
  • Very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

Personal qualities:

  • Structured, with good social skills, and able to easily establish contact and collaborate with students, colleagues, and guardians.
  • Independent, confident, creative, solution-focused, and engaged.
  • Dares to challenge "traditional" teaching, thinks outside the box, and can put ideas into practice.

Merits:

  • Good knowledge of mathematics, social studies (SO), and natural sciences (NO).
  • Category B driver's license and access to a personal car.

For some of our tasks in the security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
