About Carlsund Education Centre

Carlsund Education Centre is one of Motala Municipality's upper secondary schools. We value values such as multiculturalism, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. The school offers seven national vocational programs:

• Childcare and Leisure
• Construction and Civil Engineering
• Electricity and Energy
• Vehicles and Transport
• Sales and Service
• Hotel and Tourism
• Industrial Technology

We also have introductory programs and upper secondary apprenticeship training within our national programs. The school constitutes a creative environment, and we develop the operation in close cooperation with local industry representatives where student entrepreneurship is in focus.

Job Responsibilities

At the upper secondary school, we are now looking for a Study and Career Counselor. As a Study and Career Counselor, you have a driving role in the counseling work, both as support to other staff at the units and towards the students. The Study and Career Counselor is part of the school's Student Health Service and is included in the Student Health Service work team.

You will:

• Provide counseling individually and/or in groups.
• Provide guidance to school staff and have the overall picture of the work with study and career counseling within the school units.
• Adapt counseling to each student's needs, putting the individual at the center.
• Create motivation for further goals and the future.
• Give tools to the student on how to make decisions based on their strengths and weaknesses.
• Collaborate with external actors such as the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen) and the labor market unit.

Qualifications

• Degree from the Study and Career Counseling program.
• You take active initiative in social situations, step forward, and find it easy to create and maintain new relationships.
• You organize and plan your work well, work according to a clear process where you complete what you start. You set timeframes and meet deadlines.
• You follow set goals, set your own, work towards them, and focus on results. You are guided by goal- and result-oriented thinking in prioritization, planning, and action. You change your direction when goals change.
• You work well with other people. You relate to them in a listening and smooth manner. You can adapt and find win-win solutions through a goal-oriented focus on the common goal.
• You are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. You have interest, will, and ability to help others and strive to deliver solutions.

Employment Terms

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start: Aug 2026 or according to agreement.
Working hours: Mon-Fri
