Do you want to help shape the future of visual technologies using groundbreaking artificial intelligence?
Your responsibilities
In this role, you will conduct research focused on developing new generative AI models and deep learning methods to create, edit, and optimize photorealistic computer graphics and 3D scenes with real-time rendering. You will work in close collaboration with senior researchers and other doctoral students in projects exploring the intersection of neural rendering (e.g., NeRF and Gaussian Splatting) and traditional computer graphics.
As a doctoral student, you will focus on your doctoral studies and the research project you are part of. Your work may also include teaching or participating in other departmental duties, up to 20% of full-time employment.
Your qualifications
You have completed a degree in advanced computer science, technical physics, applied mathematics, computer science, or equivalent, or completed courses totaling at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 credits are at an advanced level in a relevant subject such as machine learning, computer vision, computer graphics, or image analysis, or have otherwise acquired substantially equivalent knowledge.
We are looking for someone who is analytical, proactive, and has strong problem-solving skills. You have a genuine interest in visual technology and the ability to work both independently and effectively in a team.
Very good programming skills in Python and C++, documented experience in computer graphics, GPU development, and practical experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow are required. As the research is conducted in an international environment, very good proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required.

About the position

The employment is fixed-term for normally four years full-time. Extension of employment up to five years occurs based on the extent of teaching and departmental duties. In special cases, further extension may occur. You are initially employed for one year, after which the employment is renewed for up to two years at a time, based on achieved study plan progress.
Commencement date by agreement.
The position may be subject to security classification. If so, a security investigation with register check will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
