About the School

Uppsala Musikklasser was founded in 1982 and currently has over 520 students in grades 3–9, specializing in choir or orchestra. In addition to music, the school is known for its strong academic results and a high sense of security. The school employs approximately 50 staff members and is a non-profit independent school managed by the Uppsala Musikklasser Foundation. The school is currently located in a beautiful building on Seminariegatan. We are now looking for an experienced student assistant who can also work as a substitute teacher.

Here, you will help create a school where all students are given the opportunity to achieve educational goals and where learning is experienced as meaningful, stimulating, joyful, and secure.

About the Position

You will work together with teaching teachers with the goal of removing obstacles to student learning. You will become a secure adult figure for the students in your care, facilitating transitions and social interaction throughout the school day. You will work closely with the school’s special education teacher and the rest of the student health team, with a focus on younger students. Time spent at the after-school care center is therefore part of the assignment.

The position is a summer temporary position at 80%.

Qualifications

As an employee at Uppsala Musikklasser, you are expected to be a positive role model and exercise active self-leadership. You are creative, sensitive, and open to new challenges, and you are highly solution-focused. You adapt easily to changing circumstances and can quickly adjust your perspective and approach. You take responsibility for your tasks and contribute to an enabling environment where it is safe to make mistakes, ask for help, and learn from errors. You work well with others and relate to them in a sensitive and flexible manner. You listen and communicate in an empathetic and constructive way. You build good and sustainable relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.

Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD is required.

The Process

Applications should be sent via email with an attached CV and cover letter. Applications submitted through other websites will not be considered.

Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period, and the position may be filled before the final application deadline.

If you progress in the process, you will be required to provide a certificate of good conduct (extract from the Swedish Criminal Record Register).

We kindly decline offers regarding advertising and recruitment assistance.

We look forward to receiving your application!
