About Us

At Magelungen's operations in Uppsala, we offer resource school (grades 7–9) combined with structured open care, treatment school, and the home-staying program (HSP). The young people we meet often have social, psychosocial, or neuropsychiatric difficulties, and many have a long history of school absence. To help these young people achieve a functional school attendance, we work with small-scale operations, high staff density, enhanced social support, and individually designed setups, based on each young person's conditions and needs. We have a systemic and salutogenic baseline where the focus is on working with the whole person and building on what works. Our goal is to offer a context where all young people can get a chance to succeed based on their conditions.

About the Position

As a student coach at Magelungen's primary school, you work in an operation that offers school and treatment, where school is integrated with skills training and treatment. We offer a smaller context with adapted teaching and tailored, individual solutions. An important part of our daily work is to strengthen the young people by focusing on their resources and competence, to work together towards the student's own goals. Your task is to build a trusting relationship with all students and provide motivating support both socially and academically. You create security through motivational conversations and by being present for the students in the school's general areas, during lessons, and during breaks. You also guide students to additional support and resources such as a counselor, school nurse, and/or study and career counselor. All of this contributes to a holistic and salutogenic context where students feel seen, motivated, and strengthened in their development and future goals.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with previous experience of working with children and young people. We place great importance on personal suitability and interest in helping the target group. It is important that you are flexible and willing to be part of a context where collaboration with your colleagues is a central part of the task. It is meritorious if you have previous experience of working at a resource school. You enjoy providing support and helping out, and are motivated by making a real difference. The school is exclusively aimed at students in extensive need of special support, and therefore we would appreciate it if you have experience of working with the current student category.

Employment Type

The position is a fixed-term part-time employment (60%) from August 17 to December 22, 2026, with possible extension during the spring semester.
