Teacher for Åvikenskolan in Gnosjö

Gnosjö Municipality is characterized by the well-known "Gnosjö Spirit" – an entrepreneurial approach permeated by collaboration, creativity, and drive. We work in accordance with the curriculum's (Lgr22) goals to promote students' curiosity, desire to learn, and belief in their own abilities. We build our teaching on a formative approach with clear goals, feedback, and a strive to give every student the opportunity to reach as far as possible.

Åvikenskolan is located in the town of Gnosjö and has approximately 150 students from grades 1 to 6. We are around 25 educators working together to realize our vision: "We build foundations for life." The school is situated close to nature, and we often use the outdoor environment as part of the teaching – in line with the curriculum's statements about utilizing students' local surroundings.

Responsibilities

As a teacher for grades 1-6, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching according to current governing documents. You are expected to base your work on the curriculum's goals for each subject and adapt the teaching to meet both group and individual needs.

The role includes mentorship, documentation, assessment, as well as collaboration with guardians and student health services.

We work cross-curricularly where possible, focusing on developing students' language skills, digital competence, and ability to collaborate, in line with the curriculum's overarching goals to strengthen students' ability to take responsibility for their learning and act in a democratic society.

At our school, we are keen on helping and supporting each other in all aspects of daily work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a trained and licensed teacher with eligibility to teach grades 1-6.
• Has the ability to create a safe and stimulating learning environment based on clear leadership and good relationships.
• Is well-versed in Lgr22 and has a clear didactic foundation.
• Actively contributes to collegial learning and is open to trying new methods.
• Is confident in your professional role and open to collaboration.
• Has good communication skills with colleagues, students, and guardians.
• Is engaged, responsible, and open to different perspectives and willing to create solutions. At our school, respect for differences and the equal value of all people are fundamental.

Previous experience working in a school is meritorious. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, teamwork skills, and value-based work in accordance with the school's democratic mission.

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-08-06 or according to agreement.
