Brandbergsskolan is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) in the heart of Brandbergen. At Brandbergsskolan, you will also work with special education groups and adapted comprehensive school grades 1-9. We strive to lay the foundation for lifelong learning and to ensure that every student is given the opportunity to develop both academically and socially based on their prerequisites.

We are now looking for an experienced student assistant for one of our adapted comprehensive school classes in the lower secondary section.

Your assignment

In your role as a student assistant, you help create a secure foundation for our student who needs extra support. Together with the teacher, you plan and structure the school day based on individualized pedagogy that provides predictability and security. You are present as support by the student's side throughout the entire school day, during lessons, breaks, and transitions. You interact with the student, parents, and teachers. Ongoing documentation is part of your duties.

You will support a lower secondary student living with epilepsy, which means you will be responsible for supervision, identifying triggers, preventing seizures, and daily communication with guardians.

What we are looking for in you

You should be educated as a childcare worker or student assistant, or have education that the employer deems equivalent. It is a requirement that you have previously worked with children and young people, as well as experience working with children and young people with intellectual disabilities. You should have experience supporting children and young people with epilepsy.

As a person, we expect you to be:

• Reliable and predictable - the student's needs come first.
• Low-affective - calm in both body and mind.
• Perceptive - able to read situations and act in a way that de-escalates them.
• Communicative - fluent in spoken and written Swedish.
• Cooperative - collaborates with teaching teachers and other student support functions. Has close contact with guardians.
