Are you a passionate, qualified, and dedicated special educational needs coordinator? Do you want to be part of a dynamic team at a school that values study environment, security, and respect? International English School in Täby is now looking for a special educational needs coordinator who, together with the principal, genuinely wants to help students with adequate support at both individual and group levels, as well as further develop a well-functioning learning organization.

About Us

International English School in Täby is an established school for students in grades 4 to 9, with a student body of 1,150 and a staff of approximately 110 employees. Our school is known for its high educational quality, strengthened by an international staff and a teaching environment where up to 50% of the instruction takes place in English. We follow IES Ethos, a methodology that promotes an inclusive and permissive atmosphere leading to good academic results.

Your New Role

You are a licensed teacher with special educational needs competence and a few years of work experience in schools. You are widely recognized for your expertise in your field and have a documented history of improving goal achievement and attendance for students in need of special support. Previous experience as a lead teacher and/or school leadership is advantageous.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date at the beginning of the term in August. A probationary period of 6 months applies.

Qualifications

The role of special educational needs coordinator with us means that, in close collaboration with the principal, you are the hub for systematic decisions and development work for an accessible learning environment.

The work involves creating a red thread and contributing to a balance between school culture and care culture.

The work is carried out in close cooperation with the school's deputy principals, special education teachers, the Student Health Team (SHT), and teachers. The school has a local student health plan with an associated operational description and resource allocation in collaboration with the principal as the core of the SHT work.

You are responsible for documenting these guidance sessions in designated documents with high quality and clarity, and sharing the information with the student health team, school leadership, and other relevant parties. You ensure that the follow-up resulting from, for example, action plans or pedagogical investigations, is conducted independently and systematically with guardians and other relevant parties. You ensure that the necessary information about a student, regarding both knowledge and social development, is shared with those concerned.

You should be able to guide and conduct observations of your colleagues, including school leadership, SHT, and teachers, in a trust-based and respectful manner, so that they can find functional and sustainable approaches to working with students who struggle to meet knowledge requirements and/or groups that challenge a good work environment and development.

We are looking for a special educational needs coordinator with a developed good and communicative ability, both verbally and in writing, who also has the ability to win the trust of your colleagues. Your guidance is carried out with great respect for people's different abilities, and you succeed in getting others to dare to take new steps in their development.

You have a positive view of students and always put the student's best interests first, do not compromise on their needs, and have a creative ability to find functional solutions.

Your administrative skills are well-developed; you are organized, keep documents in order, and ensure they are archived in the designated places.
