Berga Agricultural Upper Secondary School is seeking a substitute teacher for Social Studies, History, and Religion

About the position

Our current teacher in Social Studies, Religion, and History is on parental leave. We are therefore seeking a substitute teacher starting on August 13th to teach in parallel with the regular teacher during a transition period of a few weeks.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who hold a upper secondary school teacher’s degree with eligibility in Social Studies, History, and Religion. Previous teaching experience in these subjects is considered an asset. You should be well-versed in relevant regulatory documents, such as the Education Act and the national curriculum, and employ a formative approach to teaching. Proficiency in Swedish is required, as is the ability to teach in an inspiring manner. The role also includes mentorship of a class, where prior experience is advantageous.

As a person, we see that you have strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues. You are self-reliant, driven, and accustomed to making independent decisions. We expect you to contribute with engagement and a professional attitude. You are solution-oriented, build trusting relationships with students, and act as a clear and creative leader in the classroom, adapting teaching to meet students' needs.

Conditions

This is a fixed-term position with 100% employment, starting on August 13, 2026, and ending on February 1, 2027, with the possibility of extension. By law, a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) must be presented for employment at Berga Agricultural Upper Secondary School. About us

Berga Agricultural Upper Secondary School is located in Västerhaninge, just outside Stockholm, and is owned and operated by Dille Gård AB. The school has approximately 200 students and combines upper secondary education with an active farm featuring crop cultivation, cattle, and sheep. We have a large equestrian operation with its own riding arena. For students traveling from long distances, there is a boarding school with approximately 100 places. The farm covers 600 hectares, giving the school a unique location in the Stockholm region, only 30 minutes by commuter train from Stockholm Central Station. Since 1921, young people have been educated in agriculture at Berga, although the farm’s history dates back much further.
