About Viks School

Viks School is a municipal school with a cultural focus. The school is located approximately 6 km east of Gustavsberg in an older area near forests and the sea. Viks School is a K-6 school with approximately 520 students and 70 employees. We place great emphasis on our shared values. We aim to be a school that radiates confidence and trust, where everyone feels secure. We want to highlight what works well and lift up the positive aspects in all students and among each other. We are a school that wants to give our students overview and context to grow as learning and independent individuals.

Viks School has a cultural focus, which among other things means that we work systematically with fiction as an important foundation in teaching. It also means that we highlight our democratic mission through various cultural projects.

About the Role

The role of class teacher involves responsibility for planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of activities in the class. You will share mentorship in the class, as the current mentor/class teacher will be part of the municipality's development team 50 percent of their time. You will also collaborate closely with leisure-time staff and other colleagues in the work team. Every week, you will meet with teachers in your year group for joint assessment and common evaluation of the teaching in the year group.

Common time for evaluation and follow-up of teaching in the year group is scheduled every week. Our joint conferences are based on collegial learning and continuous development of our areas of focus. During the year, we have worked on implementing PBS (Positive Behavior Support), a working method that aims, among other things, to work systematically at the group and individual levels to promote a secure and inclusive school environment.

We are looking for you who

Are a certified teacher for the lower grades of primary school. You have a conscious pedagogical approach where student participation and responsibility are a given. It is important that you are confident in your professional role.

You have a strong interest in teaching development and the ability to create varied and accessible teaching for everyone. You always have the students' development and learning in focus, and you understand the importance of good relationships with all students. Furthermore, we hope that you are good at collaborating and contributing collegially with your knowledge and competence.

It is important that you are confident in your professional role and that you understand the importance of close collaboration and good dialogue with guardians.

For this position, presenting a valid extract from the police criminal record is a prerequisite for employment.

Employment Terms

The employment is a permanent position and refers to full-time hours starting from 2026-08-11.
