Do you have ideas for the future and are you driven by challenges? In Haninge, you will develop alongside supportive colleagues who want to make a difference today. Currently, one of the most ambitious change processes in our municipality's history is underway. We are building a new city, approximately 20 minutes from Söder. Join us on our journey.
Welcome to develop with us!
Vega School and Activity House are located in the Vega area of Haninge Municipality, just south of Stockholm.
In addition to operations for grades F-9 and adapted primary school, we offer a full-size sports hall, a public library, a youth center, a music school, an orchestra room, and a café. The school premises are spacious, modernly furnished, and contain everything required for high-quality teaching.
We have approximately 750 students in grades F-9, after-school care, and adapted primary school. During the day, our premises are used by the school. After school hours, the music school, associations, private individuals, and other actors operate in parts of the facilities. Staff from the Culture and Leisure Department and the Education Department collaborate closely in these premises to create opportunities for broader learning.
Welcome to a school where we together learn, discover, and meet!
Your assignment
We are looking for you who have a strong commitment to the students' learning, safety, and future, and whose teaching is characterized by high quality. You enjoy, have experience with, and are qualified to teach Swedish and English in grades 7–9.
You are a clear leader who is confident in your role as a teacher. You are a creative, flexible, and engaged teacher who wants to develop teaching and works to ensure that every student reaches as far as possible in their knowledge and personal development. You care about creating a safe learning environment based on mutual respect, and you understand the importance of teaching being creative and stimulating while resting on research and proven methods. You are unpretentious, curious, and share your knowledge with others.
Your assignment includes, among other things, planning, implementing, evaluating, and being responsible for the pedagogical work based on the school's steering documents and the students' needs and interests; both individually and together with colleagues. The assignment also includes mentorship for one of our middle school classes, which you share with one of your colleagues in the work team. You are part of one of the grade-level work teams together with other colleagues; the middle school has 5 parallel classes and represents a relatively large part of the school's operations.
You are part of the collegial work on the development of the pedagogical operations; both within the work team and at the school in general. All pedagogical staff at the school are well aware of the importance of having a F-9 perspective, which we also expect of you. Another part of the common thread is our shared structure inside and outside the classroom.
Collaboration with colleagues is a key factor and a natural element where collegial learning is fundamental. At Vega School, we value the ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
Since the Culture and Leisure Department has part of its operations in the same building, we consider it natural that you have an interest and willingness to collaborate with other actors and view the student's goal achievement from a holistic perspective, where all parts contribute.
What we are looking for in you
You are a certified teacher with the qualification to teach Swedish and English in grades 7-9. It is an advantage if you also have additional qualifications from your teacher education. We would like you to have experience in the role of mentor.
At our school, every student should have the opportunity to reach the top of their potential. Therefore, we want you to:
- Be clear, structured, and organized.
- Have good didactic and pedagogical skills to lead and organize for a good learning environment.
- Have high expectations of the students and their ability to develop.
- Be solution-focused and contribute to a good atmosphere and working environment.
- Be interested in development and want to grow in your profession.
- Stimulate students' curiosity and desire to learn.
- Be sensitive to each student's conditions and needs and adapt accordingly.
- Enjoy cross-curricular collaboration.
- Have high digital maturity, as our classrooms are equipped with the latest technology. You see Unikum, Teams, and Google Classroom as natural tools in your work and communication.
In the recruitment process, great importance will be placed on personal suitability and good references.
What we can offer you
A nice school environment with competent, positive colleagues and wonderful students. You will become part of and involved in the continued development of our relatively new school!
Welcome with your application! Last day for application 6/8.
During the summer period, week 27 to week 32, response times may be longer than usual. We thank you for your patience.
