Job Description

We are now looking for a new support assistant for our service housing facility in the City Centre at Kabelgatan 2. We opened in September 2022 and consist of 8 apartments where the target group is primarily people with psychiatric diagnoses.

The tenants in the service housing have various psychiatric diagnoses, substance abuse issues, co-morbidity, or high-functioning autism. Your task is to work together with your colleagues to create a service residence where we promote self-determination, participation, and where tenants are inspired and motivated to use, challenge, and develop their abilities. We work with individualized pedagogical solutions to give each tenant good conditions for success and thereby development. The residence is a 24/7 operation where we base our work on the tenants' needs and may need to revise working hours accordingly.

We work according to evidence-based methods such as ESL (An Independent Life), MI (Motivational Interviewing), LAB (Low-Affective Approach), and clear pedagogy. As a support assistant, the role includes being a contact person, which means you have extended responsibility for one or more tenants. This includes, among other things, developing individually adapted working methods, social documentation, and collaborating within the professional network surrounding the tenant. As support for you in this work, there is a support pedagogue at the unit.

You will contribute to and be part of a good work environment, which creates a favorable climate for the development of both tenants and colleagues. Together, we do important and meaningful work that makes a difference in people's lives. The duties also include medication management according to delegation and common household chores such as cooking, laundry, and cleaning.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree from the Care and Nursing program, the Support Assistant program, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four terms of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) nursing or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Communication and documentation are an important part of the work, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test provider Educateit.

It is meritorious if you have experience working in psychiatry and also with people within substance abuse and co-morbidity. If you also have knowledge of working with methods such as MI (Motivational Interviewing), ESL (An Independent Life), and LAB (Low-Affective Approach), this is meritorious.

You can quickly change your perspective and attitude and see possibilities in changes. You are attentive and open to understanding other people's needs, feelings, and opinions. You are receptive to what others say or express and show respect, consideration, and care in your approach. You are pleasant and helpful to other people even in stressful situations. You show respect for everyone you meet at work. You work to ensure the user gets what they need. You can see your work as part of a larger context and understand how it affects and is affected by other parts of the organization.
