The Department of Individual and Family Care (IFO) is in an exciting phase where operations are changing and expanding to meet the needs of residents in Borås. With a new Social Services Act on the horizon that places greater emphasis on preventive work and service initiatives, we offer an exciting opportunity to participate in the development of social services in Borås.

The Prevention Centre primarily works with preventive measures aimed at families with children living in the city of Borås. Our interventions address various needs, catering to both acute and long-term needs for support and assistance. We collaborate with various operations within IFO and external partners. In addition to the opportunity for exciting, meaningful, and creative work, as our future colleague, you will be part of a workplace with dedicated and highly competent colleagues who are passionate about social work and making a difference in children's lives. The workplace is primarily located at Olovholmsgatan 32, where the Preschool Administration is situated, but some work will also take place at the preschools.

As a Social Worker (Socialrådgivare), you will primarily work on developing and strengthening collaboration between IFO and Borås City's preschools. This involves reviewing existing routines for collaboration and developing initiatives where collaboration needs to be strengthened or clarified. You will work in close collaboration with principals, educators, child health services, Borås City family centers, and VGR (Region Västra Götaland).

Your responsibilities include environmental scanning, knowledge dissemination, needs assessment, and competence development for principals and educators within the preschool sector. By acting as a consultant in cases concerning parenthood and concerns for children, both at the individual and group levels, you contribute to increasing knowledge about social services' work and ensuring families receive the right support at the right time. Responsibilities also include leading parent groups, participating in parent meetings and APTs (Assessment and Planning Meetings), creating networks, and developing methods for preventive work. Directed towards IFO, the Social Worker becomes a link to the Preschool Administration in matters concerning younger children and their parents.

We are looking for you who have a degree in Social Work (Social Work degree) or another academic degree that the employer assesses as equivalent. Experience working with children and young people is meritorious, as is previous experience as a caseworker in the field of children and young people or as a Social Worker. It is also meritorious if you have education and experience in working with parental support.

As a person, you are engaged, driven, and professional, with a positive and respectful attitude. You have good collaboration skills and thrive in cooperation with various actors. You work in a structured manner and have the ability to plan and organize your work effectively. You are flexible and creative, allowing you to adapt to different situations, even under pressure. You have the ability to drive processes from idea to implemented intervention and follow-up. Furthermore, you express yourself well both orally and in writing and have strong communication skills. A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.

You are given the opportunity to independently plan your daily work with the support of a favorable flexible working hours agreement. As needs dictate, some work will be scheduled in the afternoons/evenings based on APTs and parent meetings.
