Senior Social Worker (1st Social Secretary) – Adult Unit, Mariestad

Within the Social Services Department of Mariestad Municipality, we are constantly working to improve our services to provide the best possible support for our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role as Senior Social Worker at the Adult Unit, you will be based in the Maria Nova premises in central Mariestad.

On this unit, we work with clients facing substance abuse issues, social psychiatry cases, homelessness, domestic violence, and other social issues. In the work group, social secretaries work together with intake secretaries across all areas. You will also collaborate with the outpatient care team at the Addiction Center.

As Senior Social Worker, you support method development, distribute cases, lead case reviews and case supervision, and provide guidance on matters related to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Voluntary Mental Health Care (LVM). A key part of the role is environmental scanning, where you create and revise guidelines and routines based on changes in legislation governing our authority, such as the new Social Services Act.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position of Senior Social Worker, we are looking for you who:

• Are educated as a social worker (socionom) or have an equivalent educational background
• Have previous work experience from social services and public authority operations
• Hold a valid Category B driver's license

Additional qualifications include previous leadership experience and training in methods relevant to the unit you are interested in working within.

Since the role involves significant supervision and method development, you must have strong skills in communicating information, teaching methods, and strengthening employee competencies. You do this in an inspiring and motivating way.

As Senior Social Worker, you will handle acute situations where you are expected to prioritize and delegate based on the laws and regulations governing our operations. We look for candidates who have good organizational structure, are flexible, and creative to adapt to meetings, situations, and unpredictable days.

The role involves many contacts both internally and externally, so we value someone who cherishes good collaboration and is team-oriented.
