About the Job

We are looking for 1–2 teaching assistants (amanuenses) who will work within the European research project AEROSEC, in connection with the Department of Fluid and Mechatronic Systems (FLUMES).

AEROSEC is a European research project (2025–2028) funded by the EU's Digital Europe Programme. The project develops a secure and highly reliable multicloud environment for the defense, security, and aviation sectors, with a focus on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering.

The goal is to enable secure development and collaboration regarding complex systems-of-systems in distributed environments.

Within the project, Linköping University participates in Work Package 5.3 (Digital Engineering / MBSE), focusing on developing a digital representation of a System-of-Systems in the aviation domain.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Modeling of systems-of-systems (SoS) within aviation and drone systems
• Development of digital demonstrators ("As-Is" and "To-Be")
• Work within the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform
• Participation in research activities within the project.

About You

To be employed as a teaching assistant, you must be admitted to higher education at the first or second cycle level.

The tasks are varied and may arise with short notice, requiring flexibility and availability at the university. You should also be responsible, detail-oriented, service-minded, possess pedagogical skills, and be interested in the respective subject areas.

For this position, it is required that you have participated in the courses TMAL02 (Aircraft and Vehicle Design), TMHP03 (Engineering Systems Design), and TMAL51 (Aircraft Conceptual Design).

Specifically for this position, experience with tools for simulation and modeling, MBSE, and aircraft systems is required.

Qualifications that are meritorious include ongoing studies in computer science, data science, software engineering, or equivalent, as well as experience in modeling or simulation work and 3DEXPERIENCE.

Your Workplace

The Department of Science and Technology (ITN) / Institute of Technology (IEI) operates within both the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Science and Engineering and is one of the university's largest departments with approximately 500 employees. Our research covers a broad spectrum of areas from economics and management to design and technology. We are the university's largest undergraduate education department with approximately 4,200 full-time equivalent students. Teaching takes place within several sought-after and well-known educational programs.

The FLUMES department is located at IEI. The department conducts research and education in fluid mechanics, mechatronics, and complex technical systems, including System-of-Systems. The department has a significant undergraduate education mission, including teaching in several programs at Linköping University.

About the Employment

The employment is for 50% during the period 1 September 2026 – August 2027, with the possibility of continued employment in the course TMKA11.

An employment as a teaching assistant is regulated in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance.

Salary and Benefits

Salary according to LiU's central agreement for teaching assistants. The employment is monthly paid.
