The Workplace

In Ludvika Municipality, there are three meeting places operated by the municipality: Haffas, Lorensberga, and Grängesberg youth clubs. We are looking for you who, together with us, want to develop the municipality's open youth activities and leisure offerings for young people.

Job Responsibilities

As a Youth Club Leader, your task is to create a meaningful leisure time by operating attractive, democratic, and safe meeting places and activities for the target group aged 12–19. We are looking for an active and engaged leader who, from a supportive and coaching approach, creates a safe and welcoming environment where everyone feels seen.

The offerings should be varied and appeal to a broad target group; this can range from planned or spontaneous activities at the youth club to holiday trips and larger events. The work involves being physically active, participating in various activities together with the visitors.

You will also contribute to the municipality's democracy work by supporting and encouraging increased engagement in societal issues. You work actively for local cooperation and networking.

Other department-wide assignments may occur.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education with a pedagogical focus, youth club leader training, or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent is required.
  • Documented experience working with young people and/or young adults.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good experience communicating via social media.
  • A class B driver's license and access to a private car are required.

The following would be meritorious:

  • Education in conversation methodology.
  • Experience with gender equality work and leading groups based on values and value-based work.
  • Experience working in a project format (anchoring, involving, planning, marketing, implementing, and evaluating).
  • Knowledge of and interest in youth culture, keeping up to date with trends both locally and nationally.
  • Knowledge and interest in technology and media.

Personal Attributes

You are an adult role model who is confident in yourself and your leadership. You have a positive outlook on life, are a good listener, and have the ability to engage and inspire.

You have excellent teamwork skills and find it easy to connect with others and build relationships. You have a coaching approach and a desire to support young people in realizing their ideas.

You are full of ideas and have the drive to develop the operations together with the work group. You value differences and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect the environment.

Structured, responsible, flexible, solution-oriented, and stress-resistant are other important qualities you should possess.

Your personal attributes are of great importance as a Youth Club Leader, so great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
