The role of a personal assistant is varied and rewarding. Regardless of the specific tasks, you will make a valuable difference in the life of the person you support. Working hours vary depending on the client's needs, including day shifts, evening shifts, waking nights, weekend work, and 24-hour shifts.

Important: Please mention if you have a driver's license and access to a car, as this can be crucial for some clients to ensure you can reach the workplace.

Background Checks

If an employment opportunity arises, you will be required to present an extract from your criminal record. The requirements differ depending on whether you work with children or adults:

Work with Children

Work with children with disabilities is subject to background check requirements according to the Act (2010:479) on background checks of personnel performing certain services for children with disabilities. An extract from the criminal record must be presented as the final step in the recruitment process before employment can commence.

Work with Elderly or Adults with Disabilities

Work in the home of elderly persons or adults with disabilities is subject to background checks according to the Act (2026:43) on background checks when working in the homes of elderly persons or adults with disabilities. The law applies from March 1, 2026. As a company, we have a policy to request an extract from the criminal record upon hiring as part of our overall suitability assessment.
