Social Worker for Substance Abuse and Addiction Team

The Adult Unit is a department under the Labor Market and Economic Assistance area within the Social and Labor Market Administration.

Within the Social and Labor Market Administration, we work in many different operations that can be referred to as Social Services, labor market, and adult education.

The Adult Unit consists of a unit manager and two deputy unit managers. The unit's main tasks include authority exercises within economic assistance, social psychiatry, and harmful use and addiction.

At our workplace, we work in small teams, and each team is led by a senior social secretary. Together, within the unit, we are approximately 60 employees.

We are now looking for you who are interested in working with us in our team that works within the area of harmful use and addiction. The team consists of 8 case workers/social secretaries and one senior social secretary. Everyone in the team is driven by great commitment, and you who apply for the position need to share this mindset.

Job Responsibilities

As a social secretary, you have authority responsibility, and your tasks include investigating applications for support for adults with addiction diseases and making decisions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Abusers Act (LVM).

As a social secretary, you have the opportunity to work with the individual at the center. Your work as a social secretary is very significant and multifaceted as you, in dialogue with the client, should work to find the best solution for the individual in question.

The work as a social secretary may include, among other things, bringing cases up for discussion, investigating reports of concern/applications, making assessments, making decisions, and following up on interventions. You work based on the legislation and knowledge support available.

In our municipality, we strive to provide the individual with a cohesive care chain as far as possible locally. To succeed with this, we collaborate with other actors within and outside the municipality.

Qualifications

Basic requirements for the position:

A degree in Social Work with experience in social work and/or authority exercises, as well as being well-acquainted with the social services' area of responsibility and legislation.

The position requires that you have very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and hold a B-driver's license for a manually shifted car.

  • You are stable, secure, and stress-resistant in a complex and sometimes pressured environment.

Meritorious qualifications:

  • Professional experience working with harmful use and addiction.
  • Education in MI (Motivational Interviewing), Signs of Safety, and ASI.
  • Experience working in the business system VIVA.
