The Care and Social Services Department is responsible for the municipality's elderly and disability care, home healthcare, and catering services. The department employs over 1,000 staff members. The largest group consists of care personnel such as nursing assistants, personal assistants, nurses, and cooks. However, there are also many other professions within our operations. We are all key players, and our operations are characterized by employees who are engaged, responsible, and competent.

Do you want to help make everyday life a little safer, more hopeful, and more understandable for people struggling with mental illness and other functional variations? At our transitional housing facility within social psychiatry, you will have the opportunity to combine relationship-building work with structure, quality, and long-term stability.

Here, you become an important part of public operations focused on education, care/social services, and community services, where we take our core values seriously: relationships, joy, learning, and drive.

We are looking for you who want to contribute both heart and mind – and who thrive in an environment where we help each other to become better, every day. We are seeking a colleague with relevant education in social work or psychiatry who wishes to use their skills in a context where development and quality are in focus. We are looking for you with an education that has given you the right tools to work professionally and systematically in social psychiatric operations.

About the position

In the role of staff member at the transitional housing facility, you support residents in their daily lives to create greater independence and security. You work both practically and pedagogically, serving as a stable human being in the house who helps make the puzzle of everyday life fit together. The work involves close collaboration with colleagues, other professions, and sometimes relatives or authorities.

You will work according to a day/evening schedule and every other weekend. There are resource shifts in the schedule that can be performed at other workplaces in the municipality. The position is permanent and full-time with good opportunities for development, both in the role and in your profession. Your tasks include:

  • Providing social and pedagogical support in daily life based on individual needs and implementation plans
  • Working systematically with mental illness, comorbidity, ADHD/Autism spectrum disorders (NPF), and other functional variations
  • Using methods such as MI (Motivational Interviewing) and ESL (An Independent Life) in daily work
  • Responsible for documentation, follow-up, and other administrative parts related to interventions
  • Collaborating with, for example, social services, healthcare, prison and probation services, and other actors
  • Contributing to a safe, clean, and pleasant living environment as well as a positive and inclusive housing environment

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Pedagogical education within the social field, for example, social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, or similar. Alternatively, equivalent education, such as specialist nursing assistant psychiatry, caretaker, or housing support worker
  • At least 3 years of experience in social work or care work
  • Very good knowledge of mental illness, psychiatry, mental diagnoses, and comorbidity
  • Knowledge of ADHD/Autism spectrum disorders (NPF) and other functional variations
  • Experience working with the Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS) and psychiatry
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, as well as experience with documentation
  • Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing (MI) and ESL (An Independent Life)
  • Good knowledge of implementation plans and other documentation related to social psychiatry
  • Good digital competence and experience working in operational systems
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

Meritorious Qualifications

  • Experience from the prison and probation service or work with crime and addiction issues is meritorious
  • Post-secondary specialization within the disability field of at least 200 YH credits or 60 university credits

Personal qualities

We are looking for you who are secure, curious, and calm even when much is happening around you. You thrive in meeting people who are sometimes in vulnerable situations, and you have both patience and humor in your baggage. You like to work systematically, but are not afraid to think new thoughts when the situation requires it.

You need to be accustomed to taking responsibility, being able to make decisions on the spot, and at the same time be sensitive to the individual's needs. With us, personal treatment, respect, and trust are important – both in the meeting with residents and in the collaboration with colleagues.

Great importance is attached to personal qualities.

What you get from us

With us, you get colleagues who are happy to share, laugh together in the staff room, and support each other when days are a bit extra intense. The work environment is characterized by team spirit, collaboration, and a strong "we" feeling – no one works alone here, even if you sometimes stand alone in a meeting. We take both job satisfaction and work environment very seriously.

We offer a workplace where you can grow over time, both through experience and through continuous competence development. You receive health benefits, flexible working forms primarily during the day, and some possibility of remote work for planning and administrative tasks when the operations allow it. Above all, you get a job where what you do is actually noticed – in people's daily lives, relationships, and future.

In Ludvika Municipality, we work according to our core value "Team Spirit" (Lagandan), which consists of four principles: Relationships, Joy, Learning, and Drive. It is based on collaboration and cooperation, a "we" feeling, and a desire to continue developing. It is with Team Spirit that we take on our mission and strive towards our vision of being the municipality of the future, growth, and opportunities.
