The Forensic Psychiatric Clinic in Säter (RPK) provides highly specialized care at both regional and national levels. There are a total of 78 care beds across seven wards staffed with experienced nurses and care assistants. The patient group primarily suffers from psychosis-related issues and neuropsychiatric disabilities, often accompanied by substance use/dependence. Care is tailored to the patient's individual support needs, with the aim of increasing their ability to manage their illness and social daily life. The primary goal is reintegration into society, with or without continued psychosocial support interventions.

The Treatment and Activity Monitoring Team works with long-term treatment contacts for patients sentenced to forensic psychiatric care. The group currently consists of psychologists, social workers, rehabilitation assistants, addiction therapists, and a unit manager. The team is driven and collaborative; you will be introduced to the forensic psychiatric environment by open and supportive colleagues. Several of us have moved to the region for this work. The team operates in close collaboration with doctors and ward staff, and work hours are office hours, Monday to Friday. This recruitment replaces two existing rehabilitation assistant positions.

The work of the rehabilitation assistants primarily aims to offer patients a meaningful daily life. This is done to foster engagement, participation, and motivation in the patient's treatment, as well as for functional and needs assessment, and as practically oriented active treatment. The work (daytime, Mon-Fri) is varied and consists of theoretical and practical activities, both in groups and individually. Examples of group activities include financial literacy, stress management, sleep education, and artistic painting. Examples of individual activities may include furniture care, carpentry, and various forms of social training inside and outside the RPK buildings. Exercise and sports components are also included for all rehabilitation assistants. Within the facility, there are facilities such as a carpentry workshop, a music room (including Cubase), and exercise and education rooms. The desired competence and interest profile for this recruitment is a) diet and exercise (cooking groups, health education, physical activity, etc.) and b) creative work (painting, drawing, simpler carpentry/crafts, music/music creation, etc.).

As a Rehabilitation Assistant, you are expected to independently lead and evaluate the patients' activities. This is done in close collaboration with the rest of the treatment team as well as the ward staff, so it is very important that you thrive and function well in a team. All patient work is documented as part of the patient's assessment and treatment process. As a rehabilitation assistant, you also share responsibility for the maintenance of activity rooms and equipment.

RPK Säter is currently in a development phase with a focus on more active and evidence-based treatment work. Development work is ongoing for a more structured care process with an expanded range of methods and quality monitoring. As part of the treatment team, there are great opportunities for a position in this development process and to shape the team's work according to the complex needs of the patient group. Long-term opportunities for further education also exist within Region Dalarna.

Requirements:

• Adequate post-secondary education in fields such as pedagogy, behavioral, human, or social sciences, or healthcare/psychiatry.
• Personal security, flexibility, and stability, as well as the willingness and ability to meet and work with people.
• Ability to lead practical and theoretical activities with patients.
• Willingness and drive for close teamwork; you need to both enjoy and function well in a team.
• Category B driver's license.
• Good command of Swedish in speech and writing.

Merits:

• Experience from forensic psychiatry or related 24/7 operations such as psychiatric inpatient care, SIS (Swedish National Board of Institutional Care), HVB homes/treatment homes, etc.
• Experience and interest in areas such as carpentry, crafts, teaching, music, health and sports activities, etc. (see competence profile above).
• Experience and/or knowledge about treatment for psychosis, addiction/comorbidity, disabilities (Intellectual Disability, Neurodevelopmental Disorders) etc.
