Gottsunda Parish is located in a growing part of Uppsala and is part of the Uppsala Pastorate. The parish conducts a broad range of activities and collaborates with various community actors in the immediate area. Divine services and devotions are held in two churches and a chapel. The parish also features a café, an open preschool, two full-time preschools within the pastorate, and a vibrant musical life. The parish has many dedicated employees, of which 18 are employed.

Deacon for Gottsunda Parish

As one of the parish's deacons is changing positions, we are now looking for a successor. The starting point is to share people's faith and life based on the power of the Gospel.

Job Responsibilities

The assignment is to plan, conduct, and coordinate the parish's diaconal work in accordance with the Church of Sweden's faith and doctrine and according to the parish instructions, with a special focus on children, youth, families, and confirmands.

• Collaborate to develop the place of children and families in divine services.
• Meet with children and families, including at the parish's open preschool, parish camps, and in baptism follow-ups.
• Work with the Uppsala Pastorate's confirmand and youth work, as well as family camps.
• Collaborate with the municipality on the youth arena.
• Generational activities, weekday services, parties, and parish evenings.
• Develop the parish's school contacts.
• Counseling and pastoral care.

Qualifications

You are an ordained deacon in the Church of Sweden and have the ability to work both in close, everyday settings and simultaneously think strategically and long-term. You have experience in parish work with children, youth, and families in the Church of Sweden and are well-acquainted with its faith and traditions.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working independently but is also a team player. You are social, flexible, and enjoy building relationships with people of all ages. You are open to people's differences and appreciate diversity. You have both a pedagogical and diaconal perspective and want to work to strengthen people in vulnerable situations.

Information about the position

The position is a permanent full-time employment. A probationary period may apply.
