We are looking for a substitute assistant for a cheerful, lively, and active 11-year-old girl. She is a forward-thinking, mobile girl who loves to play and have fun! Discovering and exploring new things is very exciting for her. She enjoys building with blocks, exploring the function and shape of things, and loves playing in the playground or in the forest.

The girl lives in Skyttorp with her family. There are good connections for commuting and bus transport. The assistance is also provided at the family's house in Denmark during school holidays.

Important Tasks and Requirements

It is important that you are meticulous, as there is medical technical equipment such as manual suction, saturation monitors, oxygen, and inhalation equipment.

Experience with tube feeding, PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)/sign language, visual supports, or communication programs, as well as experience with children with autism and hyperactivity, is meritorious. Training in respiratory monitoring, oxygen treatment, and emergency care is provided by a knowledgeable nurse through Home Child Healthcare, Akademiska Barnsjukhuset.

The girl needs help in her daily life with hygiene and care of a gastrostomy, medication, inhalation treatment, adapted drinks and food, respiratory monitoring, and high-flow oxygen therapy with MyAirvo 2 during sleep. It also includes motor and movement training in the form of play and exercises, as well as sign training.

You follow her in daily life and are involved in school, healthcare visits, outings, and trips with the family. As an assistant, you accompany her to both indoor and outdoor activities. The girl has no spoken language but is very communicative using sounds, signs, and body language. You will become her interpreter and translator to people she meets. She uses a TalkPad. The assistant helps and supports her in communication using PECS and the TalkPad. Therefore, good written Swedish is required.

About You

We are looking for you who are a calm and observant person with great patience. You are confident working independently. You are accustomed to taking care of children and have experience working in healthcare. You still have a child's heart and enjoy activating and playing with children. Since the work is in a family with children, we place great emphasis on personal suitability.

This is an active, awake assistance service, divided into 2–3 shifts during the day. Currently, we are looking for someone for a substitute position on a scheduled basis at 75%. You must be able to work daytime hours at school, and evening and night shifts on weekdays and some weekends are included.

You are a non-smoker. You need to master Swedish in both speech and writing. The substitute position is on a scheduled basis for 12 months but may be terminated early if the regular assistant returns sooner. Possibility of full-time work during the summer.
