We are looking for an engaged and flexible employee who wants to work as a resource in the school activities and be an important support for both students and educators. In this role, you will support a class or individual student in the classroom as well as during breaks and lunch to create a safe and structured environment. The position includes daily participation in student transport via subscribed school buses to evacuation schools.
Björklinge School is a preschool–year 5 school with just over 500 students. We actively work with collegial learning and strive to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students. Until week 43, 2026, the entire operation will be evacuated to various locations due to renovation work, which places demands on flexibility, collaboration, and good communication. This is a fixed-term employment until 2026-10-23.
Students in preschool class to year 1 will have their education at Storvretaskolan, while students in years 2–5 will be located in the modules at IFU Arena. Students are bussed every morning from Björklinge School, and their leisure activities are located both at the respective evacuation schools and at Björklinge School.
This means that during this period, we will need to increase the adult-to-student ratio in all classes to provide safety and stability both during transport and during school and leisure activities.
Description of duties
We are looking for an engaged and flexible employee who wants to work as a resource in our operations. In this role, you will be an important support for both students and educators in everyday life. The work requires a low-affective approach, where you contribute to safety and good relationships in different situations with calmness and clarity.
You will work as a resource for a class or individual student and contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and structured school environment. The duties include helping in the classroom and being a support for students during breaks and lunch. The position includes daily participation in student transport, where you accompany students on subscribed school buses to our evacuation schools and contribute to ensuring that the trips are safe and smooth.
Part of the working hours are located at the leisure center, where you participate in the pedagogical activities and contribute to the students' development and well-being in the mornings and afternoons.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have previous experience of working in schools. It is meritorious if you have a childcare education. You adapt easily to changed circumstances and quickly change your approach. In your work, you collaborate well with others and relate to your surroundings in a listening and flexible manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive way. As a person, you are outgoing and socially active in your work. You find it easy to establish contact with students, guardians, and colleagues.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
