Polhemsskolan is Gävle's largest upper secondary school with approximately 1,500 students. The school offers 10 national programmes, including one university-preparatory programme and nine vocational programmes. At Polhemsskolan, we have well-developed work teams and extensive quality assurance work aimed at increasing student achievement. The Electrical and Energy Programme is a vocational programme for young people studying electricity, automation, and data.

Job Responsibilities

Do you want to inspire the next generation of electricians and technicians? We are looking for an engaged vocational teacher for the Electrical and Energy Programme who wishes to combine their professional knowledge with pedagogical work. With us, you will have the opportunity to make a difference every day by preparing students for the future working life within an industry in constant development.

Your responsibilities will include, among other things:

• Planning and conducting both theoretical and practical teaching in relevant vocational subjects.
• Engaging in close dialogue with the industry regarding internship placements and programme councils.
• Collaborating across subject boundaries and contributing to the development of our educational programmes.

You challenge and support students so that they achieve good academic results. The work is carried out in collaboration with student health services, guardians, and other actors outside the school.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Have an upper secondary education in electricity.
• Have several years of professional experience working with electrical installations.
• Have knowledge of digital tools.
• Can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Teacher certification is desirable but not a requirement.

• You create an open dialogue and adapt your language based on the current situation.

As a final candidate in the recruitment process, it is a requirement that you present an extract from the criminal record register for work in schools or preschools.

Employment Type: Permanent position.
Duration: Start date: 2026-08-12 or by agreement.
Working Hours: Daytime.
