We are now looking for an art teacher for the Culture School in Hudiksvall Municipality. For us, the joy of group teaching, events, and the social value of community are important parts of the Culture School's operations. Around 600 students aged 5–19 attend the Culture School. Here, they can discover the joy of playing instruments, singing, dancing, acting, or developing their artistic side in visual arts. Our culture school is free of charge! The teachers at the Culture School also collaborate with preschools, primary schools, and special needs schools so that approximately 2,500 students each year get to meet and discover the Culture School in different ways. We are 19 creative teachers who enjoy working together, and now we are looking for our new colleague. Is it you?

Job Responsibilities

The art education at the Culture School involves teaching in the school's voluntary activities with art lessons scheduled after school hours. In total, we will have 6–8 art groups at the Culture School, and they will participate in various performances each term as well as in joint regional days in different ways.

The position is a permanent part-time employment at 50%. There is an opportunity to expand the role during the 2026/2027 school year, for example, by taking on one of the Culture School's assignments – the Cultural Guarantee, which is targeted at primary school year 3, as well as more art groups.

Your Profile

To fit and thrive in this role, we see that you have good collaboration skills, are flexible, and receptive. You can take initiative and have a creative approach to art education. We require a university degree as an art teacher or another education that we assess as equivalent. Knowledge of aesthetic learning processes is an advantage. Some computer skills are required for this position. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

About the Department

We lend out a million books through our libraries. We let children be creative, use their joy of discovery, and problem-solving skills in Mulle Meck's fairy tale world. Through our culture school, students can find joy in movement and learn to play instruments – completely free of charge! Our young people can hang out with their friends at one of our youth clubs. In our swimming pools, we teach children and adults to swim and discover the strengthening power of water. We support our rich association life in various ways. We let children, young people, and adults discover culture. We are the Department of Culture and Leisure – a part of Hudiksvall Municipality.
