About the Position
We are now looking for a Crafts Teacher who wants to be part of our team at Staffansskolan Staffan and Brynäs, starting in the autumn term of 2026. These two school buildings are centrally located in Gävle, covering grades Preschool Class to Year 6. Staffanskolan Brynäs has new, beautiful facilities and a pleasant outdoor environment for all students in grades 3–6. Staffanskolan Staffans offers activities for all students from grades F–2, with adaptations and space for the needs of younger children.
The school also has hearing-impaired classes. Here, we have a diversity of languages and cultures that provide opportunities for different working methods and approaches. To give our students the best conditions for success and to ensure the school is accessible to all students, our starting point is an NPF-safe school with a strong focus on digitalization.
We value student participation and influence in both teaching and other contexts where the student is present. In daily life at our school, many good encounters are created that strengthen students' social competence. Secure, clear adults provide a calm environment with peace and joy in work. At our school, it is important that all staff are aware and work based on the school's value base.

Job Responsibilities
Do you want to awaken the joy of creation and creativity in the next generation?
We are looking for an engaged crafts teacher who wants to help develop teaching in a subject that combines creativity, craftsmanship, and problem-solving. The assignment includes planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in accordance with current regulatory documents, as well as creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment for all students. You challenge and support the students so that they achieve good academic results and adapt your teaching based on all students' needs and prerequisites. The work is performed in collaboration with other educators, student health services, guardians, and other actors outside the school.
Qualifications
In this role, you actively contribute to a culture where we together take responsibility for creating the best conditions for students' learning and development. You are happy to share your ideas, take in other people's perspectives, and see collegial learning as a natural part of the assignment.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has teacher certification with eligibility to teach crafts in grades 3–6.
- Is familiar with and has knowledge of the curriculum for compulsory school.
- Has the ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language, both orally and in writing, as this is required in the work in dialogue with colleagues, guardians, and students.
- Has experience and knowledge of working with digital tools.
To succeed in the role, you have:
- A natural ability to lead and motivate students and to make them happy and well.
- The ability to create trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues, and has a good and non-hierarchical approach in your way of collaborating.
- An inclusive working style that makes every student feel a sense of belonging and security.
- The ability to create calm and clarity in both groups and in meetings with individual students.
- Curiosity and creativity, open to new solutions.
- The ability to plan and organize your work well.
