Polhemsskolan is Gävle's largest upper secondary school with approximately 1,100 students. The school offers 9 national programs, including one academic preparatory program and eight vocational programs. RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to help train tomorrow's employees in security, fire safety, and guarding? Gävle Municipality is looking for an engaged vocational teacher who wants to share their professional knowledge and inspire students to develop, take responsibility, and feel pride in their profession. Here, you will play a key role in strengthening students' path to working life and contributing to a safer society.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Teaching in the Children and Leisure program's vocational track leading to becoming a security guard.
• Subjects include fire protection, guarding, and human safety.
• Arranging and following up on Workplace-Based Learning (APL), which involves close collaboration with the industry.
• Mentorship is included.

You challenge and support students so that they achieve good study results. The work is carried out in collaboration with student health services, guardians, and other actors outside the school.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has education in fire safety and guarding, or equivalent as assessed by the employer.
• Can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Has experience and has worked professionally in fire safety and guarding.

Qualifications that are meritorious for the position:

• Knowledge of the upper secondary school curriculum.
• Knowledge of and experience with working with digital tools.

Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.

Type of employment: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-08-12 or by agreement.
Working hours: Daytime.
