Job Responsibilities

As a special needs educator at our upper secondary school, you work with promoting and preventive measures, as well as supportive interventions, to create the best possible conditions for students' learning, development, and goal achievement. You are an important part of the student health team and collaborate closely with school management, teachers, special education teachers, mentors, guardians, and external actors.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Identify, analyze, and investigate students' needs for special support
• Support teachers and work teams
• Contribute to developing an accessible learning environment
• Participate in student health work with a focus on preventive and health-promoting measures
• Establish, follow up, and evaluate action plans and support measures
• Conduct pedagogical assessments and contribute special educational expertise in complex student cases
• Contribute to the school's systematic quality work within student health and special education
• Participate in and take responsibility for the handover process throughout the year

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are trained as a special needs educator with a strong commitment to young people's learning, development, and well-being. You have a good ability to see both individual needs and the organization's development opportunities, and you work with an inclusive and solution-oriented approach.

To succeed in the role, we see that you:

• Have a degree in special education; experience from working in upper secondary school is an advantage.
• Have good knowledge of the school's governing documents and current special educational research.
• Are confident in supervising and supporting teachers and work teams in pedagogical matters.
• Have good analytical skills and experience with pedagogical assessments and investigations.
• Work independently, structured, and take responsibility for driving processes forward.
• Have excellent collaboration skills and create trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.
• Communicate clearly and professionally in both speech and writing.

About the Department

We teach children to read, calculate, and discover the world around them. Here, we follow our youngest municipal residents from preschool until they graduate from upper secondary school. Through our adult education, one can learn Swedish as a second language, take individual courses, or pursue longer education.
