At Sofiedal School

At Sofiedal School, we work to ensure that all students feel safe and that every child is everyone's responsibility. Our students range from preschool class to grade 9. The school is located within the Sofiedal principal's area in Valbo, close to the sports center and outdoor recreation areas. It is characterized by well-being, engagement, and a forward-looking attitude. Good public transport connections are available to both Gävle and Sandviken.

We are now looking for an engaged teacher in Physical Education and Health, combined with teaching in other subjects, who wants to help create a safe, varied, and developmental school day for our students.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher in Physical Education and Health for grades 4-6, you will be responsible for teaching, class supervision, as well as mapping, planning, implementation, and evaluation of lessons. The work is carried out according to decided goals and guidelines. The responsibilities also include mentorship and working together with your colleagues to design a good, enjoyable, and varied school day with the students' best interests at the forefront.

Your duties include, but are not limited to:

• Teaching in grades 4-6 according to the current curriculum in Physical Education and Health, combined with another subject based on qualifications.
• Class supervision and mentorship.
• Mapping, planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching.
• You challenge and support students so they achieve good academic results, adapting your teaching to the needs and prerequisites of all students.
• You collaborate with other teachers, guardians, and the school's student health services.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have:

• A teacher's degree and teaching license with eligibility to teach grades 4-6 in Physical Education and Health, combined with eligibility in another subject.
• Good knowledge of the compulsory school curriculum.
• Experience working with digital tools, such as documentation in Unikum or Office 365.
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Merits for the position if you have eligibility in more subjects, including Mathematics/Science (MA/NO) and Social Studies (SO).

• The ability to lead and motivate your students and create an environment where they thrive, feel good, and have a sense of belonging.
• An inclusive approach to work, actively working to ensure all students feel included in the teaching.
• The ability to create open dialogue and adapt your language based on the situation and the recipient.
