Are you solution-oriented, interested in technology, and do you have the pedagogical ability to inspire children and young people to solve problems themselves? Do you have a passion for developing children and young people? Then you might be the right person to work with us. We are looking for someone with a technical education who has an interest in pedagogy and entrepreneurship. You will primarily work at KomTek but also at Mulle Meck, focusing on the development of children and young people. We are the first step in the competence development for children and young people to become technicians and engineers.

You, together with us, are part of the Department of Culture and Leisure, which has approximately 90 employees. Our mission is to offer the municipality's young residents the opportunity for a rich leisure time through a wide range of cultural and leisure activities, in collaboration with an active and engaged association life.

Job Responsibilities

You will be part of the Mulle Meck and KomTek unit. The purpose is to give children and young people a meaningful leisure time and to teach them new things and discover how fun technical solutions can be.

At KomTek, the Municipal Technology and Entrepreneurship School, the role involves planning and conducting class teaching in technology and science with entrepreneurial learning, from grade 1 to 9, based on the central content in the Swedish National Agency for Education's curriculum. You are responsible for and lead leisure and course activities in the subject of technology with entrepreneurial learning for children and young people in both Hudiksvall and Ljusdal municipalities.

You conduct holiday activities to reach new target groups and spark their interest in technology, and you participate in various events in the evenings, weekends, and holidays together with other organizers. We monitor the external environment to keep up with developments.

At certain times, you may need to work as a substitute at the visitor attraction Mulle Meck in Glada Hudik. This involves working with visitor service, such as standing at the reception and serving coffee and snacks. It may also involve conducting pedagogical activities for children's groups, as well as repairing items in the exhibition and obtaining, cutting, and sawing wood materials, etc.

Your Profile

To fit the role, we want you to:

• Have a post-secondary education, preferably in technology or pedagogy.
• Be entrepreneurial, creative, innovative, clever, and able to put this into practice, with an interest in sharing your knowledge.
• Enjoy planning and organizing daily operations and know how to use your time effectively. You are driven by the desire to contribute to the development of the activities.
• Are flexible. You adapt easily to changing circumstances.

Personal suitability is highly valued, and interviews are conducted on a rolling basis. The contract is under negotiation, which may mean that the position will not be filled.

About the Department

We lend out one million books through our libraries. We let children be creative, use their joy of discovery, and problem-solving skills in Mulle Meck's fairy tale world. Through our culture school, students can find joy in movement and learn to play instruments – completely free of charge! Here, our young people can hang out with their friends at one of our youth clubs. In our swimming pools, we teach children and adults to swim and discover the strengthening power of water.
