About Tallbackens School

Tallbackens School is a newly built and modern school located in the Strömsbro district, beautifully situated with the forest right at its doorstep. The educational activities at the school include preschool class, primary school grades 1–6, after-school activities, and an after-school club. There are currently 205 students attending the school.

At Tallbackens School, we work with formative teaching. This means we strive to clarify and create understanding of the learning goals students are aiming for, using methods and tasks that make students active and make their knowledge visible. We provide feedback on students' work aimed at advancing learning and work to activate students as learning resources for each other. We work to ensure students become owners of their own learning and actively work on students' literacy skills in all subjects.

Job Description

We are now looking for you who want to work as a teacher in our after-school club in combination with a role as a student coach, where you will have the opportunity to create a safe, meaningful, and developmental daily life for our students in grades 4-6.

Responsibilities

As a teacher in our after-school club, you will independently be responsible for planning and teaching in the after-school club. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to creating a school where everyone feels safe and seen. The work is carried out in collaboration with other educators, student health services, and guardians, and you will be part of the school's safety team. Your tasks include among others:

• Planning, implementation, and evaluation of the after-school club according to decided goals and guidelines.
• Responsibility for snacks, including serving and ordering snacks.
• Conducting social exercises or activities that strengthen group dynamics and cooperation.

As a student coach, you work closely with students and staff to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment. You are an important part of the daily work in and outside the classroom and contribute to students having the prerequisites to succeed both socially and academically. Your tasks include among others:

• Actively working to create an inclusive and safe school environment.
• Providing support to individual students or groups in social situations and during schoolwork.
• Being present in the classroom to help with structure, focus, and clarifying instructions.
• Working with safety-building measures during breaks, meals, and transitions.
• Supporting students in conflict management, emotion regulation, and developing positive strategies.

Qualifications and Merits

Qualifications: We are looking for you who have:

• A teacher's degree and teacher certification with eligibility to teach in after-school settings.
• Knowledge of the curriculum for primary school as well as for preschool class and after-school settings.
• Good ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of, and experience with, working with digital tools.
• Previous work experience in the field is considered a merit for the position.

To succeed in the role, you are:

• Clear leadership: You show clear and secure leadership where you naturally motivate students and create an environment where they thrive and feel good. You have a good ability to create open dialogue and adapt your language to the situation and target group.

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-08-12.
Working hours: Daytime.

As a final candidate, you must be able to present a police certificate of good conduct for work in schools or preschools. This should not be attached to your application.
