We are now looking for a substitute brass teacher for the academic years 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 at the Culture School in Hudiksvall Municipality. Teaching, events, and community are important parts of the Culture School's operations. Approximately 600 students aged 5–19 attend the Culture School. Here, they can discover the joy of playing instruments, singing, dancing, acting, or developing their artistic side in visual arts. The Culture School's teachers collaborate with preschools, primary schools, and special needs schools so that approximately 2,500 students each year get to meet and discover the Culture School in various ways. Our Culture School is free of charge. We are 19 creative teachers who enjoy working together, and we are now looking for our new colleague. Is it you?

Responsibilities

The Culture School's brass instruction is part of the voluntary activity, which is mostly scheduled after school hours. In total, we have over 45 wind instrument students, of whom approximately 17 play brass instruments. You will work with individual instruction on the trumpet, tuba, trombone, and French horn. In addition to individual instruction, there are three levels within the wind orchestras, where you will play a key role in leading and collaborating with other Culture School teachers.

The Culture School's wind students and orchestras participate in various performances each term and also take part in joint regional days in various ways.

Your Profile

To fit and thrive in this role, we see that you have good collaboration skills, are flexible, and responsive. You take initiative and have a creative approach to brass teaching. We expect you to have relevant education from a university college of music or other education that we assess as equivalent. Experience in conducting and pedagogical repertoire planning for wind orchestras is an advantage. Some computer skills are required for the position. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We lend out one million books through our libraries. We let children be creative, use their joy of discovery, and problem-solving skills in Mulle Meck's fairy tale world. Through our Culture School, students can find joy in movement and learn to play instruments – completely free of charge! Here, our young people can hang out with their friends at one of our youth clubs. In our swimming pools, we teach children and adults to swim and discover the strengthening power of water. We support our rich association life in various ways. We let children, young people, and adults discover culture. We are the Culture and Leisure Department – part of Hudiksvall Municipality.
